About Rachel Raab

Rachel Raab (known professionally as RAABstract) is an award-winning photographer, creative director, serial entrepreneur, and multi-disciplinary artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. A Jewish Canadian born in Montreal in 1983, Rachel has spent over two decades shaping art, brands, products, and experiences across the U.S., blending creativity with strategic, founder-level leadership.

The daughter of writer Diana Raab and painter Simon Raab, Rachel grew up surrounded by art, expression, and craft — influences that shaped her approach to storytelling and design from a young age. After her family relocated to Orlando, she earned an A.S. in Photographic Technology at Daytona Beach Community College (now Daytona State College). Her early work became part of the Southeast Museum of Photography’s permanent collection, where the top-floor gallery is named in her honor.

Rachel continued her education at the Savannah College of Art and Design, earning a B.F.A. in Photography with a minor in Graphic Design. Her work appeared in publications such as The Chronicle, Murmur Magazine, Savannah Morning News, Connect Savannah, and Skirt Magazine, and she received a 2006 Photo District News Merit Award for portraiture.

Founder, Innovator & Creative Force

In 2014, Rachel became the brain behind Buddha Pants®, the globally recognized apparel brand known for its multifunctional, travel-ready harem pants. As founder and creative director, she led product development, design, e-commerce strategy, social media, partnerships, and event activations — building a loyal worldwide customer base and expanding the brand into lifestyle culture.

Over the next 11 years, she mastered e-commerce, branding, operations, and community-centered marketing — skills that now extend across her growing portfolio of creative companies and real estate ventures.

A creative career built on vision and momentum.

Rachel’s entrepreneurial journey began early. In 2002 she founded RAABstract, a photography and design studio that grew into a thriving creative hub offering photography, graphic design, art direction, gallery curation, event production, and large-format printing.

In 2010, she co-founded The Soda Shop, a full-service print and graphics studio known for its “Flavor Your Brand” motto. There, she served as creative director, managing client accounts, producing custom merchandise, and overseeing everything from letterpress to sublimation printing. The studio produced over 10,000 product variations and became a staple in Savannah’s creative and business community.

After four successful years, she relocated to Miami to explore new creative avenues — unknowingly stepping into her next major venture.

Intention in every creation.

Throughout her career, Rachel has launched brands, curated cultural events, created large-scale art activations, and brought a designer’s eye to real estate and development. Her ventures blend creativity with strategy — proving that art, business, and innovation can coexist in powerful ways. Every project she touches is grounded in intention and driven by her ability to bring ideas to life.
